Long Term Disability (LTD)

Long Term Disability (LTD) is a safety net designed to replace your income should you become disabled and are unable to work. This benefit is paid in full by your employer. Dental Benefits

State employees can choose from three different dental plans: PEHP Preferred Choice has a small deductible and the lowest premium of all three plans. PEHP Traditional has no deductible, with a bit higher premium than the Preferred Choice plan. Regence Expressions, offered through Regence of Utah, does not have a deductible and offers a national network of providers. This plan has the highest premium of the three plans offered. Medical Benefits

PEHP offers state employees three medical plans. Each medical plan has three associated networks to choose from. Medical Plans STAR Plan – With this high-deductible health plan, there is no premium share for state employees (unless Preferred Care is selected), and the state contributes to an associated Health Savings Account (HSA). Traditional Plan – This plan has a lower deductible than other plans, but employees are responsible for premiums for this plan. This plan is not HSA qualified. Cobra Insurance

COBRA Overview COBRA, The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation ACT, is designed to allow eligible employees and their covered dependents to continue health insurance when employer based coverage is no longer available. COBRA is not available if an employee is terminated for “gross misconduct.” A State of Utah employee who has lost medical coverage is responsible to contact PEHP within 60 days of a qualifying event.
